File Date & Time Editor is a native macOS utility for inspecting and batch-editing the creation and modification timestamps on any file or folder.

Process hundreds of files at once — apply changes file by file or batch-apply to all, with a per-file outcome log for audit trails.
A preview table shows the exact before-and-after dates for every file, and a confirmation dialog states how many files will be updated before anything is written.
Set exact dates with native macOS date pickers, or shift timestamps by a specified number of days from their current values.
Set a timestamp to now, nudge it forward or back by a day, or sync the creation date to match the modification date — and vice versa.
For photos, the embedded capture date is surfaced alongside the filesystem timestamps so you can correct scans with confidence.
Live save-status indicators, a session operation log, and a prompt before discarding pending edits guard against accidental loss.

How it works

Drag files or folders into the window or use the file picker — the list is searchable, filterable by save status, and sortable.
- 02Set the dates
Pick absolute dates in the inspector or shift everything by a number of days in relative mode, then check the before-and-after diff table.
- 03Apply and verify
Confirm the batch, watch per-file progress and outcomes, then jump straight to the updated files with Reveal in Finder.
