Gif Separate - Sprite Sheets
Extract frames from animated GIFs, WebP, and APNG files — or build sprite sheets on your Mac
Open an animated GIF and pack its frames into a sprite sheet — at the column count, cell padding, scale and background you choose, with the descriptor your project reads written beside it.

Full frame control, zero complexity
Open GIF, WebP, and APNG files by drag-and-drop. Frames extract at full resolution using Apple's ImageIO framework — no loss, no limits.
Select, delete, duplicate, and reorder frames with click or keyboard. Override per-frame delay values. Reset all edits with one click.
Save selected frames as PNG, JPEG, or TIFF. Configure filenames with padding (frame_001.png). Export a timing manifest as JSON to track delays and dimensions.
Assemble frames into a single PNG sprite sheet. Configure columns, padding, and scale. Add Phaser.js Atlas JSON, Generic JSON coordinates, or CSS @keyframes.
Play the animation at original timing or adjust speed (0.1× to 4×). Step through frames with arrow keys. See per-frame delay and dimensions live below the canvas.
All processing runs locally on your Mac using Apple's ImageIO and CoreGraphics. Files never leave your machine — no uploads, no cloud, ever.

How it works
- 01Open and browse frames
Drag a GIF, WebP, or APNG file into the app. Instantly see all frames in a filmstrip grid with smooth thumbnails. Click any frame to preview it full-size.
- 02Edit and arrange
Select frames you want to keep. Delete unwanted ones, duplicate repeating frames, or drag to reorder. Adjust per-frame delays as needed. Preview the result as an animation.
- 03Export for your workflow
Save frames as individual PNGs, JPEGs, or TIFFs with custom naming. Or assemble them into a sprite sheet with options for game engines, web CSS, or JSON metadata.
